Menominee County Air Show Support
Menominee County ARES/RACES members, along with local HAMS and the Civil Air Patrol assisted local officials with communications for an air show event at the Menominee airport. The members ran a command center and communicated with all inbound aircraft, alerting them of busy airspace in and around the airport. Operators were posted around the airport reporting parking, crowd control and vendor problems and/or questions. Through the command center information was passed quickly to officials in charge. The operators were in charge of the public address system, in which information about the event was shared with the public, broadcast of in-flight communications, and warnings regarding adverse weather that moved into the area.
